Having briefly tried Messenger, I feel that its manual needs greatly
updating and expanding before it should be included in Acornet. There are
features which are anything but intutitive and aren't explained in the
manual and I only found after much fiddling around. There are other things
which are simple in TTFN, but which I was unable to do in Messenger -
whether because they are not possible, or because I couldn't find them I
don't know.
When I have a few hours to spare I will give it a good try out, and post a
full list of queries / problems to the Messenger mailing list. However I
believe that anything which is included in Acornet, and therefore intended
for a new inexperienced user should be either completely intutitive or
properly documented in its manual. Messenger MAY be a better newsreader, I
haven't yet formed an opinion, but it is certainly neither completely
intutitive or properly documented in its manual at present.
